Boyan Karanjuloff has taken the European music world by storm through his  sweeping and virtuosic performances that fascinate both audiences and music critics. Few guitarists of his generation have developed the radically individual style that Boyan Karanjuloff possesses. The versatile artist sees himself as border crossing different musical styles. Boyan Karanjuloff’s unique musical gift and his vibrant energy have made an important contribution to merging the boundaries between popular music and classical music.

In concerts, as on several CD recordings for Acoustic Music Records, Laserlight, Capriccio and Delta Music, Boyan Karanjuloff lends a youthful freshness to renowned pieces through his spirited and charismatic playing. Moreover, he approaches both less known pieces and world premieres in a similar manner.

Next to solo performances with different orchestras, the guitar virtuoso has also accompanied international stars such as the Bulgarian violinist Yossif Radionov, mezzo-soprano Christina Angelakova  and the Norwegian flautist Torunn Reigstad at numerous concerts, TV- and radio recordings. A long-term cooperation unites Boyan Karanjuloff with the painters Katharina Sickert, Ralf Bednar and Stanimir Kochnicharov. Karanjuloff cut a dash internationally as guitarist of the Villa-Lobos Duo alongside the fascinating cellist and Echo prize winner Sven Holger Philippsen. Experts rate the thrilling ensemble as the best of its kind worldwide.

Boyan Karanjuloff was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he was a student at the National Academy of Music. He continued his studies at the University of Arts in Bremen and took part in several master classes with Roland Dyens (France), Aniello Desiderio (Italy), Celso Machado (Brazil), Oscar Ghiglia (Italy) and others.

In addition to that, Boyan Karanjuloff is very involved in different educational projects which not only introduce young people to classical music, but give them the opportunity to actively take part in its creation. When on tour he always offers master classes and is open to working with students of music as well as with those without prior knowledge.
